Is there really a need for a flouride water filter?  A longtime ago, someone had what they thought was a brilliant idea.  They realized that by adding fluoride to the public water supply, it would act as a preventive measure against tooth decay and make the teeth stronger.  Has it been effective?

Well, after many years there is no conclusive answer.  In fact, there is enough suggestive and circumstantial evidence to conclude that fluoride in our water supply is actually harmful for the body.  For that reason, many people use a fluoride water filter.

For example, consider the implication of having fluoride in your tap water supply.  It violates your right to consensual medication — it is applied for you.  Also, the dosage is out of your control.  Add to the fact that many people react differently to fluoride and you have a whole lot of trouble on your hands.

Let’s dig further though.  Studies have shown that children have no trouble with their teeth, with the right amount of care, even without the use of fluoride.  Simply brushing, flossing teeth, and seeing a dentist regularly has been shown to be adequate to care for your teeth.

Just look at Western Europe — they do not put fluoride into their water, and they have shown no more problems with tooth decay than the United States.

One reason you may seek to get a fluoride water system is because it is directly in violation of your rights to consensual medication, and it has shown no conclusive evidence that being effective for its primary purpose.  But there’s more to consider.

Certain animal studies and clinical studies have shown that when fluoride is consumed excessively, it is absorbed in our bones.  The result is they become more brittle and are easier to break.  There is suggestive evidence that it also inhibits the production of melatonin in our system, which is a hormone that is directly related to our well-being and happiness.

And perhaps the most absurd evidence of all, as shown in studies done by Heller in 97 and McDonagh in 2000, is that it may even damage the enamel of our teeth, resulting in tooth decay — the very thing it is supposed to prevent.

When you consider all this information, it is wise to conclude that it is necessary to get a fluoride water filter.  Most water filter systems today will filter the fluoride out of your water supply.  If you’re still concerned about whether or not you’re getting fluoride, there are fluoride pills you can take.  And that’s the point — it should be your decision, not the governments.

You may wonder why the need for a countertop water filter.  The water we use is continually being recycled.  Until we can figure a way to create our own water, we have to use the water already on Earth.  The problem is that this water is becoming more and more contaminated, due to the increase in chemicals in the atmosphere.

But that’s not a problem is it?  That’s what we have our local municipal water company for, to treat the water and make it safe for consumption.  And that’s true — it is safe for consumption.  However, being safe for consumption means it won’t kill you or make you instantly sick.  But safe is not synonymous with healthy.

For example, let’s just consider how they make it safe.  They have to add chlorine to the water, to kill chemicals that the water would otherwise take on as it travels through the pipes and into your home.  Chlorine isn’t healthy to drink, but it’s a better alternative than water without chlorine.

Or is it?  With a countertop water filter, or bench top filters, you can get rid of the chlorine in your water, and more.

More you say?  Yes, in addition to chlorine there are at least 2100 other toxins that are likely to be in your water when it comes out in your kitchen sink, if left unfiltered.  There is no excuse to let this go on. Considering a countertop water filter is inexpensive and easy to install.

For less than a night at the movies, and for a half hours work at most, you can attach a filter to any faucet in your home.  In addition, there are many different counter top water filters available to you, depending upon your needs.

Any good countertop water filter will maintain good water pressure.  In addition, there are some water filters that allow you to turn them on or off, as needed.  Most of them have filters and only have to be changed once every few months, and this only takes a minute or two to do.

The technology for counter top water filters has improved as well.  In the past you were left with reverse osmosis and distillation methods, which were very effective in filtering out chemicals in the water.

The only problem was they were too effective — they also filtered out minerals with healthy benefits, such as calcium, magnesium and potassium.  With activated carbon filters, you can filter out the bad toxins, while leaving in the naturally occurring minerals that are healthy for your body to ingest.
